Together We Can Make a Difference

This ride is a great celebration of organ donation and involves people from all walks of life coming together for one great cause. From the riders to volunteers, everyone involved shares a common bond and their spirit helps make this event a special one. There is a huge need for registered organ donors in New York, and this event provides the exposure needed to raise awareness.

In the New York Metropolitan area, only 29 percent of the population are registered organ donors, which puts us among the worst in the nation. If you need a heart transplant here you have less than a 1-percent chance of surviving.

The North Shore Bike Tour is held each spring on the beautiful North Fork of Long Island and brings in hundreds of participants from all over the Tri-State area. The 35-mile ride starts at Osprey’s Dominion Vineyard in Peconic and heads east out to Orient Beach State Park. Riders return back to Osprey’s Dominion Vineyard along the same beautiful course, passing through the celebrated North Fork towns of Greenport, East Marion and Southold.

All proceeds from the North Shore Bike Tour go to LiveOnNY to support their public education program and try to increase the number of people enrolled in the donor registry. Watch the below video to learn more about LiveOnNY and their lifesaving work.
